Ok before you post at least get your facts straight!
1. Curacao has not 1 but at least 5 or docks in Willemstad alone. Up to 5 ships can dock at once and that is something that is common!

2. Nor Curacao or Aruba are indepent of Holland. Just last year 2010 Curacao became autonomous in the Dutch kingdom, what Aruba became in 1986!

3. Main industry of Aruba has since the 60s been Tourism, tourism and tourism as where Curacao main industry has been oil refinery, trade, shipdock and financial services and offshore.

4. Since the late 90's Curacao has been focusing on tourism. So there's a 40 year gap between Aruba and Curacao. As where Aruba has reached its peak Curacao has so much potential and that's what they're working on!

5. You can not even compare the prices between these 2 island Aruba being much more expensive than Curacao.

6. Buildings.. The buildings on Curacao date back to the 16th and 17th century. True that some are poor maintained due to lack of private owners. The ones that are in hands of the government are in good shape.
Aruba on the other hand has bulldozed all their old buildings down in trade of newer hotels and buildings. Hence that Willemstad is on the Enesco hetirage list and Oranjastad isn't.

Moral of the story.. Not everything is so black and white as it is described here. Curacao has become one of the top destinations in the last years and is still groing!

Before posting please do some research.
