Imagine a city built on the banks of two huge rivers that has year-round mild climate, a mixture of beautiful historic and modern buildings, numerous parks with green forests and colorful gardens, tree-lined streets, elegant neighborhoods, a major university (Portland State University) and an efficient public transit system of light-rail trains and streetcars that connects all parts of the city to each other. That city is Portland, Oregon. In this city you can easily go anywhere in the downtown area by foot or by transit—a rarity in the United States.

If you are looking for an exotic tropical island to visit, then consider the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean. Part of the British Commonwealth, it is located north of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. The island is only 27 miles long and 14 miles wide. Its eastern shore borders the Atlantic Ocean and its western shore borders the Caribbean Sea. Year after year, St. Lucia remains popular amongst tourists due to its warm weather, sandy beaches, beautiful eco-friendly resorts, and incredible tropical scenery. The island is a tropical paradise with mountainous terrain; lush rainforests; and exotic plants, trees, flowers, and birds.

Bavaria is Germany’s southern-most province, bordering Austria. The entire province has, without a doubt, some of Europe’s most spectacular scenery, thanks in large part to its proximity to the German Alps. The majority of Germans dream that one day they can live in Bavaria, and when you visit the place you will understand why. Bavaria seems to be lost in time.
