While it’s generally relatively inexpensive to get to Las Vegas, once you arrive in Sin City it is usually a whole different story. Even the most frugal travelers will swiftly find their budget busted as the cost of food, drinks and entertainment shock the wallet over and over again. Unfortunately, spending money in Vegas is an inescapable reality. However, there are still some good deals to be found, and savvy travelers can enjoy themselves without returning from their holiday with a whopping credit card bill. When one thinks of a vacation to Maui probably the first thing that leaps to mind is relaxing on the beach under a swaying palm tree, listening to the crashing surf and watching the humpback whales frolic in the distance. Other activities like snorkeling the Molikini crater, taking a helicopter tour of the island, shopping in Lahaina, or dining at Maui’s many fabulous restaurants are no doubt also high up on the list. What probably isn’t on the radar for many visitors is taking a 40+ mile drive along a narrow, twisting, treacherous highway. However, if you want to experience all the beauty Maui has to offer then driving the Hana Highway is an absolute must.

Now, there is nothing wrong with lounging on the beach, drinking margaritas and dipping into the ocean every couple of hours for an entire week. It is always difficult trying to give advice to other people on the best things to do and see in a given city. Different people have different tastes and their idea of what is fun, interesting or adventurous may be vastly different than my own. However, when I sat down to compile a list of things to do in Athens the challenge wasn’t finding activities that would have mass appeal, but rather narrowing down those activities to the absolute cream of the crop.
