How do I earn money writing for Globe Tales?
Writing for GlobeTales.com does not guarantee you remuneration of any kind. We do not pay authors directly for the articles we submit. You must have your own Google Adsense account to be eligible to earn money at GlobeTales.com.
Here at GlobeTales.com we employ a revenue sharing model utilizing Google Adsense’s contextual advertising system. This system will show visitors relevant advertisements on the same page where your article appears. If visitors see an advertisement that interests them and they click on it Google’s advertisers pay for that click.
If you are a member of the Google Adsense program then you can participate in our revenue sharing system. When you submit a new article you will be prompted to enter your Google Adsense Code (see below). Our revenue sharing starts at a 50/50 split and gradually increases depending on the number of articles you’ve published. This split is the percentage chance that when your article is loaded your Adsense code will be displayed. If someone clicks an ad when your Adsense code is showing you earn money!
- 1 – 20 Articles Published – 50/50 – Bronze Status
- 21 – 50 Articles Published – 60/40 – Silver Status
- 51 – 100 Articles Published – 75-25 – Gold Satus
- 100+ Articles Published – 100/0 – Diamond Status
***Note: increases in Adsense revenue sharing are only applied to future articles. When you gain a status level your revenue split will be adjusted on every article you write from then on. However, the articles you’ve written previously will continue to earn the same split they always have.

What are the other benefits of writing for GlobeTales.com?
Even if you can’t get approved for Google’s Adsense program, and thus are unable to participate in our revenue sharing program there are still benefits to writing for GlobeTales.com.
- Direct exposure – First of all you will get exposure for your writing. As we grow we hope that Globe Tales will become a highly trafficked travel website, and by submitting your articles here you will benefit from that targeted traffic. You can use your articles as a portfolio of work when exploring other writing opportunities.
- Promotional opportunity for your travel website – If you have your own travel related business then you can draw attention to it and gain potential customers by submitting articles here. With our content site focused specifically on the travel niche there is a much better chance that visitors who see your articles will be targeted visitors who are interested in learning more about your service.
- Relevant backlinks for your travel website – As any SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert will tell you one of the most important factors in obtaining a high ranking in Google and other search engines is having backlinks from other sites pointing to your website. These links increase your site’s authority and help it to gain search engine trust. However, not all backlinks are created equal. You can’t just throw a link to your site out all over the web and hope to get to #1 in Google. Search engines love “relevant” backlinks, that is, links that come from websites with a similar theme to the site they are linking to. If you have a travel website, then a backlink from GlobeTales.com will be treated as a relevant link and will thus increase your trust factor in the eyes of the search engines. When you submit your article you can enter a short ‘Author Bio’ paragraph with up to two backlinks (with the anchor text of your choice) pointing to your website(s).
As you can see there are plenty of compelling reasons to write for us even if you are not participating in our revenue sharing program.
How do I find out how much my article has earned?
You can track the revenue performance of each of your articles by setting up custom channels for each article URL in your Google Adsense account. By doing so you will be able to see how many times your ads have been viewed for each article as well as how many clicks, the click-through rate (CTR), and the amount of money each article has earned you.
How do I get more traffic to my articles?
This is a burning question for all web content providers, and with the constantly evolving search engine algorithms, one that has different answers from month to month. Google is constantly shuffling the deck, and articles that are on the first page for key search terms one week may be nowhere to be found the following week. Here are a few tips to maximize your chances of having your article found, thus earning you higher page views, and hopefully higher revenue and/or exposure:
- Keyword Research – Simply put, you want to write about what people are searching for. Your article titled ‘Where to Have a Wondrous Experience Swimming with the Fish in the Land of Pineapples‘ might be award-winning stuff, but odds are a lot more people are going to find it if you call it ‘Best Places to Snorkel in Maui‘. Think about what you would type into Google’s search box if you were looking for the information you’re writing about. Writing for the web is far different than writing for print. The search engine is king, and you want to use common, highly-searched keyword phrases in your title, description and in the body of your article.
If you want to get an idea of what people are searching for, check out Google’s own Keyword Tool. Punch in a keyword phrase and see what comes up. You can play with the settings to see how many exact matches a keyword phrase gets in a given month, and go from there.
Consider your competition. Though you want to be concise, longer is often better when deciding on a keyword. If you title your article ‘New York Hotels‘ then you will be up against hundreds of thousands of other websites referencing that same phrase. However, if you get more specific – ‘Top 10 Best Hotels in Manhattan for Travelers on a Budget‘ – you have a far better chance of being found.
- Create backlinks to your articles – Yes, again with the backlinks. What can I say? They are important. By linking to your article from your travel blog, from the comments section on other travel websites, from other article directories, or from social Networking sites such as Digg, Mixx, Facebook or Twitter you can increase your article’s relevance in the eyes of search engines and rise higher in the search engine rankings as a result.
- Interlink your articles – Not only do we allow links to external sites in the body of your articles, you also have the option to link to other articles on GlobeTales.com. Inserting a contextual link in an article can be a great way to send engaged traffic to your other articles. However, we will not permit abuse of this feature. Make sure any other articles that you link to are relevant to the topic at hand.
- Write detailed, original content – Search engine spiders love content. It is their meal of choice, and they will come back regularly to sites that feed them a steady diet of fresh, original content. A unique, well-written article will tend to rank much higher in the search engines than a rehashed PLR article spun out in 10 minutes. Though our minimum word count is 350 words we encourage writers to be long-winded. Long, keyword-rich (not keyword-stuffed) posts have a better chance of being found by web surfers searching for obscure keyword combinations.
How do I become a featured author?
Once you’ve published an article and you’ve uploaded a profile picture (Upload Here) you will automatically be added to our regular rotation of featured authors. Remember, an interesting profile picture is more likely to draw eyes and thus gain your articles bonus exposure.
Do I retain the rights to articles I submit to GlobeTales.com?
